You can have it

You can have it all. There's no doubt about it. Whatever you want, it's yours. But I'm not here to motivate you or to convince you of this fact this time.

Somewhere along the line, you will realise this. From this, a newer question is unsurfaced: do I want it?

The Zen monk who decides to live a life of poverty in the mountains can have everything, but chooses not to want it. He is training his mind to make that choice for everything.

Why? If you can choose what you'll have, you might be happy. But if you can choose what you'll want, you will be happy.

It is not necessarily about sacrificing material possession. It is about building mental muscle. The next time you feel negative, you can simply flick a switch to see it from a positive perspective. You can turn jealousy into respect, failure into feedback, or anger into understanding.

Do you want it?
